MA NAIOP: Commercial Lease Clauses Affected by Covid: Oct. 9, 2024

October 9 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

What has been impacted by Covid on commercial lease clauses. Zoom class on Oct. 18, 2024 from 9am to 12pm by Rob Nahigian, instructor of MA NAIOP. Since Covid, new court rulings have surfaced as well as new business practices that have impacted negotiations of certain clauses in commercial leases. Landlords and tenants have both inserted new language that have led to wrangling and twisting of words. But are you ready?

We will discuss office, industrial and retail lease clauses that are suddenly deal-killers. Certain clauses are now creating collateral damage with other clauses. We will debate and hurdle such clauses that include: Force Majeure, Tenant access, Continuous Operations, Default and Accelerated Rent, HVAC, Hours of Operations. Rent payment, Delivery of Space, Co-Tenancy, Percent Rent, Repairs and Maintenance, Holdover, Self-Help/Off-Set, Consequential Damages, Surrender/Yield-Up, and Options and Renewals.
This should be a highly engaged class for senior as well as up and coming commercial real estate practitioners. Hold on to your belt and be ready for a wild ride.
